Alexis L. Borgestad, DDS

Dr. Alexis Lain Borgestad is originally from Pella, Iowa but she lived in Lexington, SC during her childhood. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology Honors Research at the University of Northern Iowa in 2016, completing her independent research thesis and graduating summa cum laude. She obtained her D.D.S. degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2021, where she received the William Tade Class of 1954 Scholarship, the Max and Evelyn Fuller Scholarship, the McConaughy-Nonen Scholarship, and the Alton K. Fisher Award for Oral Pathology, Radiology, and Medicine before graduating with honors.

Dr. Borgestad completed her Certificate in Endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she served as the chief endodontic resident. Approaching completion of her certificate, she wanted to return to South Carolina and join a private practice where she could further refine her skills. In the summer of 2022, Dr. Borgestad visited our office in Murrells Inlet and instantly fell in love with the community and the practice.

She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontics, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Grand Strand Dental Society. Dr. Borgestad is board eligible, currently pursuing diplomate status, with the American Board of Endodontics.

When she is not in the office, she enjoys traveling along the coast with her husband, Brennan, and visiting family and friends in South Carolina and in Iowa.
