Meet the Endodontist

R. Scott Eddy, DMD

Dr. R. Scott Eddy is originally from Ninety Six, SC. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University in 1990 and his D.M.D. from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 1998, graduating Cum Laude. While at Boston University, he was awarded a U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship, inducted as a member of the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Epsilon, and represented Boston University at the American Association of Dental Schools, serving two terms as the Vice Chairman of Council of Students.

Dr. Eddy was commissioned into the U.S. Army upon graduation from dental school and he began nine years of active-duty service. He continued his education by completing a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at the U.S. Army Medical Department in Fort Campbell, KY. Dr. Eddy served as the Group Dental Surgeon for the 5th Special Forces Group for two years before returning to school to earn his Certificate in Endodontics from the U.S. Army Endodontic Program at Fort Gordon, GA. He completed his active-duty service in 2007 to pursue a private practice career.

Dr. Eddy moved to Pawleys Island, SC, and founded Coastal Endodontics, LLC, with the sole mission to provide exceptional endodontic care in a state-of-the-art facility. To stay at the forefront of his profession, he is an active member of the Grand Strand Dental Society, the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Endodontists.

When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Leigh, or traveling to visit one of their five children.
